Teatime Talk: Dublin Markets
When: Wednesday 21 April at 7pm
Where: Online via Zoom
From Fishamble Street to Moore Street, the history of Dublin wouldn’t be complete without the markets.
For the people of 14 Henrietta Street and other tenements, the markets were an essential part of daily life for shopping and for work as dealers and traders selling everything from fruit, vegetables, and fish, to clothes.
With a particular focus on the North Inner City, Gillian Ryan will take you through the history of these markets and their people and the vital role they played in the lives of tenement residents like those of 14 Henrietta Street.
Gillian Ryan is a Dublinia-trained tour guide for Dublin City Council Culture Company at 14 Henrietta Street and at Richmond Barracks.
