14 Henrietta Street – Making a Museum: Working Life in Tenement Times

NewsStories

Published 08 May 2019

In the run up to our first year anniversary this September, we will be releasing Making a Museum, a series of short videos that look back at some of the work that went into making 14 Henrietta Street.

These films will feature specific aspects of the architectural and restoration work that went into preserving the building, and which continue to help us to tell its story. Also featured are oral histories generously shared with us by former residents of 14 Henrietta Street and other nearby tenements, many of which contributed to, and now feature as part of our guided tours.

This first video of the series features memories and stories of working life in tenement times, from just some of the many people who contributed to the making of our museum.
