14 Henrietta Street presents Teatime Talks a series of talks inspired by the history and people of 14 Henrietta Street.
By listening and engaging with visitors, historians, experts, local people, former tenement residents and their families, we continue to uncover, record and respond to the 300 year story of 14 Henrietta Street.
From the fruit and veg markets, to coddle and Sunday dinners, former residents talk of food 'served with love'. Inspired by these fascinating memories of food shared with us as part of Your Tenement Memories, we are delighted to welcome Máirtín Mac Con Iomaire, co-editor of Irish Food History: A Companion from the Royal Irish Academy.
Enlightening, entertaining and often surprising, Irish Food History: A Companion takes you on an unforgettable and expert journey through Ireland’s culinary past. In this talk, Máirtín will focus in on some of the unique Dublin dimensions of this story.
In the words of Darina Allen, "This important scholarly work is a landmark publication in the growing field of Irish Food studies and food history."
This talk will take place in person on the 1st floor of the Museum and can be accessed via lift. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact us on +353 1 524 0383 or email us at info@14henriettastreet.ie.
