Published 14 August 2025

14 Henrietta Street presents Teatime Talks a series of talks inspired by the history and people of 14 Henrietta Street.

By listening and engaging with visitors, historians, experts, local people, former tenement residents and their families, we continue to uncover, record and respond to the 300 year story of 14 Henrietta Street.

Between 1937 and 1939 the Irish Folklore Commission partnered with the Department of Education and developed the Schools' Collection. This is a unique collection of folklore and local tradition, compiled by pupils across the country. While most participating schools were from rural areas, a few schools in Dublin took part, including Presentation Convent, George's Hill. Join Dr Allison Galbari in exploring the extraordinary history of the area around George's Hill as described in the collection by these students, including crypts along Cuckoo Lane and the development of the school itself.

When: Thursday 11 September at 6 pm.
