Published 19 April 2024

14 Henrietta Street presents Teatime Talks, a series of talks hosted by social historian Donal Fallon, inspired by the history and people of 14 Henrietta Street.

The northside of Dublin, with its frequently neglected but still elegant streets and squares, is perhaps the best surviving monument to the Gardiner Family, which was primarily responsible for the creation of this sector of the Georgian city. In this talk Sean J Murphy will examine the careers and family relationships of four generations of Gardiners

Sean J Murphy is a history graduate of University College Dublin and works as a genealogical and historical researcher, lecturer and writer. For many years he gave Adult Education classes in UCD and currently provides genealogy courses for the National Library of Ireland. His most recent publication is A History of St James’s Church and Graveyard, Dublin, from the 12th to 21st Centuries, and he is currently completing the first full biography of the 18th-century patriot Charles Lucas.
