Explore Dublin’s Culture Together
Culture Club invites you to discover Dublin’s cultural spaces with others through free talks, tours, and workshops. Each session is followed by tea, coffee, and conversation, giving participants the chance to reflect, share ideas, and connect with others.
Through the monthly Culture Club programme, you can explore contemporary art, history, and architecture, take part in creative workshops, and even attend behind-the-scenes rehearsals or see artists at work. Working with our cultural partners, we offer opportunities to try something new, revisit familiar or new cultural spaces, and learn more about the city’s cultural offer.
Fiona Harrington Exhibition at 14 Henrietta Street
Through the Culture Club programme we are delighted to offer different ways to visit artist Fiona Harrington’s exhibition at 14 Henrietta Street. In this exhibition, Fiona brings the history of the museum to life through a collection of new artworks created during her 2025 residency at the museum.
The exhibition and the programme of events will take place from 20 April – 2 May 2026. Come take part in artist-led sessions, see Fiona making lace in the museum, and hear about the ideas, stories, and processes behind each artwork. Through this exhibition programme we invite you to explore the connections between the house, its history, and traditional Irish lace.
Lacemaking was once one of Ireland’s largest industries and a vital source of income for women in the 19th century. While the craft continues today to a lesser extent, Fiona repositions these techniques through contemporary visual art, connecting history, objects, and memory.
Fiona spent a year researching the history, architecture, and stories of 14 Henrietta Street. She responded to the building’s rooms, objects, and histories through traditional Irish needle and bobbin lace techniques. She has used needle lace to create delicate teacup doilies and small lace insertions that “repair” household objects, reflecting care, domestic labour, and memory. Bobbin lace interprets the walls into layered, abstract shapes that echo the building’s centuries of history.
