Task 1

  • Think about important events that have happened in your life e.g. a birthday, or your first day of school. Put these events on a timeline in the order they happened.
  • Think about what kind of ‘evidence’ you could find to add to the timeline such as photographs, objects, drawings, and add these to your timeline.
  • Think about someone your age growing up in 14 Henrietta Street in Georgian times. How would the timeline be the same? How might it be different? Would they have the same events on their timeline or might there be something different?
  • Think about someone your age growing up in 14 Henrietta Street in the tenement times. How would the timeline be the same? How might it be different? Would they have the same events on their timeline or might there be something different?

Task 2

  • Create a timeline of you and your family/friends.
  • Collect three different types of evidence to help tell your story e.g. photos, objects, songs.
  • Collect three different types of evidence to help tell the story of your family/where you live in the past e.g. photos, objects, recorded memories.

Task 3

  • Create your own timeline. This could be of your life, your family, friends, school, or local area.
  • What kind of evidence could you gather for your timeline? Are they primary or secondary sources, or a mixture of both?
  • Collect different types of evidence about growing up on Henrietta Street - either in Georgian or tenement times. Are they primary or secondary sources, or a mixture of both?
  • Make your museum of then and now: Gather some of the evidence on your list of your timeline, and about 14 Henrietta Street and make it into a display. Give a tour of your museum to classmates - you could do even do this through music, dance, or drama.
